{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Thursday, October 29, 2015

Another Friday has finally arrived! I know that sounds blah but some weeks just need to end. We actually had a pretty good week but I'm exhausted and ready for the weekend. We're supposed to have more rain this weekend so we'll see what unfolds for Halloween.

{ONE}
Speaking of Halloween, Stella and I went to Wyatt's Halloween Costume parade and party at school on Thursday. I was really bummed when I couldn't find a similar picture to this that we took last year at his party. But we had a good time nonetheless.

And I think the kiddos enjoyed their snacks at the party. I also made an orange sherbet fizzy drink which they couldn't get enough of!

{TWO}
If you follow me on INSTAGRAM then you probably already know that we set up Wyatt's new "big boy bed" and he's loving it! This is actually the bed that Sean grew up sleeping in, so it holds a lot of meaning for us. It's referred to as a "Pinecone Bed" (because it has pinecones on the posts) and so Wyatt says, "Me cone-cone bed!" Melts my heart!

{THREE}
One of my friends sent me some samples of Spark and I immediately fell in love! I drank one each morning this week and couldn't get over the amount of energy I had. I only wish it wasn't so expensive. I don't really drink coffee but I occasionally drink Diet Dr. Pepper so I just don't know if I can justify that cost. But it's super yummy!

{FOUR}
Yesterday I wrote about our weekend in Fayetteville. Mom and I did some shopping and I picked up a few items from Target that I've been super excited about. I got THIS chambray shirt and it's so soft and comfy! Finally got on the bootie train and bought THESE beauties. I love that I can just slip them on with my jeans and go. I also picked up an open Aztec poncho but I couldn't find it on their site.

{FIVE}
And I'll leave you with this. Yes, this is about as good as it gets with these two. I can't even get a smile from Wyatt when I bribe him with candy...he just eats the candy. Thankfully one of them still likes to smile at me.

Hope you all have an awesome Halloween weekend, and don't be like me and eat all of your kids candy!

An Overdue Weekend Update

Well, another weekend is approaching and I have yet to even re-cap our last weekend--ha! We made a very fast impromptu trip up to Fayetteville. We arrived late Friday night and returned home early Sunday morning, but we had fun visiting while we were there!

Saturday morning we ran some errands as a family, and then stopped to visit Sean's brother and family. The kids and I then headed back to my mom's for naptime and to cheer the Hogs to victory! YES, the Razorbacks finally pulled out a WIN!

While the kids napped mom and I ran around town to do a little shopping. We mainly hit up Target where I found a few fun pieces I'd been wanting. We returned home for a chili dinner and snuggles with the babies.

We headed home Sunday morning so we could make it back in time for our Church's Fall Festival. We didn't last long because, well, the kids weren't all that interested. Wyatt played a few games and Stella snacked on a cookie.

I'm so ready for this weekend and maybe some down time! It's supposed to rain pretty much all weekend so we'll see if we make it trick-or-treating. Wyatt had his party today at school so at least we got to show off our costumes again.

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, October 23, 2015

Oh, man!! What a week, y'all!! In case you missed it, we had Stella's 1st birthday party on Saturday (posts HERE & HERE). We had family and friends in town and it was a wonderful weekend. But then, Sean left for work travel on Sunday afternoon. So, yea, I'm really ready for a weekend (of nothing) and for daddy to be HOME! So, anyways, here's what the kids and I have been up to while daddy has been away.

{ONE}
Multi-tasking at it's finest. First off, Wyatt is loving Sissy's new rocking chair. Second, that is not a phone...it's a calculator. And three, thanks Rach for this awesome (LOUD) keyboard toy!

{TWO}
So as I mentioned, Sean has been out of town, which basically means my DIY bone starts twitching. My mom made this bow holder back before Stella was born and it's been sitting in her closet with bows clipped on it. Honestly I just couldn't figure out where to hang it but I have found the perfect spot! So, not only did I hammer a nail into a stud perfectly, I also used a drill gun and screwed those hooks onto the back of the frame. So, yea, take that!

{THREE}
Seriously. This girl is already such a girly-girl and mommy. It just blows my mind the things she picks up on. Having a boy first I just didn't realize how different a boy and a girl would be. Wyatt could care less about taking care of a "baby"...unless it's "bobbies" (Barbies) but that's just to put them in the cars. Stella loves hugging and kissing and feeding her babies. She was eating her snack the other day, with her baby of course, and she kept trying to feed her Cheetos.

{FOUR}
Yesterday I finally shared Stella's NURSERY. This is a behind the scenes picture of what was actually happening while I was trying to photograph the room. Alone time, what's that??

{FIVE}
Yesterday while Wyatt was at school I took Stella and took her ONE year pictures. I'm so happy with how they turned out and can't wait to share them next week!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!! I'll be working on some last-minute Halloween costumes and enjoying some rainy days at home.

It's the Little Things | Best Friends

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

So as I mentioned in Stella's birthday POST, my best friend and her daughter came down for Stella's party. Hattie is only 3 months younger than Wyatt and they are so cute together! Of course we always say that they will be married one day, couldn't ask for better in-laws!

It was past naptime and they were both being so silly. Hattie kept copying everything Wyatt was doing and it was so precious! We kept trying to get them to hug but Wyatt wasn't havin' it.
Then it was time to leave and we ultimately bribed Wyatt. I've mentioned before that he has an obsession with Jeeps, so we told him he could get in Ms. Kristian's Jeep if he hugged Hattie...

We're already planning our next get together for here in the next couple of weeks. I just love watching their little friendship grow!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Stella | Decorations

Monday, October 19, 2015

Choosing a theme for Stella's party was pretty simple, between her name and her nursery décor, it was a no-brainer. I loved the pink and gold combination too.

When we started planning the party, and scouring Pinterest for ideas, I came across breakfast/brunch parties and immediately fell in love. I decided on chicken & waffles, yogurt with toppings/mix-ins, muffins, and breakfast casserole. I wanted to make sure to have a good variety and plenty of food for 20 people.
I made chocolate chip muffins, lemon poppy seed, blueberry, and no sugar added banana. The chicken & waffles were made with Chick-fil-A nuggets and cinnamon mini Eggos.

For drinks we had milk, juice/juice boxes, coffee, and a mimosa bar. I wish I had got a better picture of the drink table but time got the best of me. I offered raspberry pink lemonade juice and mixed berry juice as options for the mimosas.

Everything really turned out better than I had imagined.
