Holiday World Tour {part four}

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Our fourth, and final, Christmas was Christmas night at Sean's grandmother's home.  We celebrated with his extended family.  It was great being able to see everyone,  and for some it was their first time meeting Wyatt.

Sadly, Wyatt was not in a good mood so we weren't able to get a picture of him with his Great Gram. But we did sneek one of him and his cousin Paysli!  He looks excited, right?
We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed celebrating Wyatt's first Christmas with all of our families!

Holiday World Tour {part three}

Christmas morning we woke up at Mimi and Pop's to the sight of our wonderful family!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast of breakfast casserole and pastries from LBC {courtesy of Cody and Kathryn!}.  We then enjoyed watching everyone open presents!
Wyatt's Radio Flyer wagon was definitely the gift of the day! All of the kiddos enjoyed riding and pushing each other around.

Wyatt was definitely ready for a nap after all of the excitement of the morning, and Uncle Cody was a good spot.
And, how cute is my little man in his wagon?!!  He wore his Uncle Cody's Christmas outfit from when he was a baby.

We then enjoyed a delicious lunch of prime rib and veggies & pasta, before heading to our fourth and final Christmas.

Holiday World Tour {part two}

Monday, December 30, 2013

Christmas Eve, after leaving Van Buren, we headed to Fayetteville.  Our first stop was unloading at Mimi and Pop's house, and taking a quick pic in front of the tree.
 We then headed over to Sean's brother's house for our annual Christmas Eve dinner with his immediate family.  His Grammy Cindy was pretty excited to see Wyatt!  He was excited about pears.
 Aunt Faith really tried getting Wyatt to crawl....ummm, no thanks, I'll boot' scoot!

 Mama couldn't get the present opened fast enough!

This year we did presents a little different for the adults, and it was so fun! We did a $30 white elephant gift exchange, made things more interesting that way.

Holiday World Tour {part one}

WOW! I feel like this is the first time in nearly two weeks that I've actually been able to sit down and just breathe.  We've been running and running non-stop and it's so nice to be back at home.  Except for the  laundry part, am I right??
We started our Christmas tour in Van Buren with my dad and his family.  It was really nice getting to stay and visit for a few days.  We've only stayed there one night since Wyatt was born. We had plenty of time for movie watching, eating, and playing!
 We were able to visit with my grandparents (Wyatt's greats!).  I'm so glad they were able to be such a big part of his first Christmas.  They came over and watched Wyatt open presents from my dad and Valorie.
 This was also the first time in over a year (Thanksgiving 2012) that me and my siblings were in the same house!  It's always fun when we get together.
 They like Wyatt just a little!

We had our annual Christmas-Eve Christmas lunch at my grandparents.  It's so fun when we all get together, there's about 30 of us when we're all in attendance!  Wyatt was only mildly overwhelmed, ha!
 Wyatt's pretty crazy about his (second) cousin!
 We had a great time and enjoyed getting to show off our little guy (and his two teeth)!!  The really fun part was trying to play Tetris with Wyatt's gifts and get them all in the car...OH.MY.

8 Months!!

Thursday, December 26, 2013

Wyatt,
It's so strange to me that you're already 8 months old.  You have grown and changed so much in the past month.  You're scooting you little body everywhere, feeding yourself, and becoming "Destructo-Baby"! I feel like at any moment you'll be walking and talking.  But, you're still our little baby.  We love you so much, Wyatt!

What you did this month:
  • You weight is still holding steady around 20 pounds.
  • You are wearing size 3 diapers. We tried the Pampers 12-hour protection but I still prefer the Swaddlers.
  • You are wearing size 6-12 months and 9/12 months clothes.
  • You are nursing every 2-3 hours during the day.
  • You eat solids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • You tried pumpkin & banana this month  and seem to really like it.  You also started eating a few Cheerios for little snacks each day.  You've also enjoyed some toast and green beans.
  • We've started a new schedule, again, this month. You're going down for bed around 8.
  • You are taking naps around 10:00 and 3:00, and you sleep for 1.5 - 2 hours.
  • You are trying so hard to crawl.  You can get your legs under you and you start rocking but no forward movements yet. You usually just end up on your belly.  You've definitely gotten your fair share of bruises from trying, though.
  • When you see your kitty-cats, you "eow", it's so cute. (You were actually doing that at 7 months but I forgot to write it down.)  You also look for them when I say kitty-cat and meow.
  • You have started to clap.  It's usually when you're playing and really happy, and sometimes when I'm singing.
  • You got your first two teeth this month!! The two bottom middle teeth.
  • We celebrated your first Thanksgiving and Christmas this month.
  • You met your Uncle Jared and Aunt Jen for the first time.
  • You stayed with a baby-sitter for the first time.
  • You took a bath with da-da at Nana and Grandpa's.
  • You currently hate anything that requires you to lie down...changing diapers, getting dressed, etc.

The Light of our Lives

Thursday, December 19, 2013

 Before we head out on, what I call, our Holiday World Tour I wanted to get a few (more) pictures of Wyatt at home.
 I've seen examples of pictures like these and I coudn't be happier with how they turned out.

I'm looking forward to spending the holidays with our families and enjoying this first holiday season with Wyatt.

Christmas Crafting

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

I finally got around to doing a little Christmas crafting with my little guy.  Crafts are a little tricky with a 7 month old, especially a teething 7 month old.  Which, by the way, we have our first tooth, YAY!!

So, together we made his first hand print ornament.  I saw several hand print/footprint crafts on Pinterest, but I figured this was a pretty safe a fool-proof way to go. I kept it pretty simple, writing "Wyatt's 1st Christmas 2013" on the back. I've seen some that are painted, maybe next year.

To make these, I:
1. Mixed 1/2 C flour, 1/2C salt, and 1/4C water in a bowl with my hands. Should be the consistency of dough.
2. Rolled out the dough and used a cup to create large circles.
3. Squished Wyatt's little hands into the dough to make an impression.
4. Baked at 200 degrees for 3 hours.  I've also seen some people bake for about 30 minutes at 300 degrees. I'm sure both work the same.

It was definitely a fun craft, and we now have a memory and an ornament to last for years to come!

Our Weekend

Sunday, December 15, 2013

We had an amazing weekend, and even overcame one our biggest parenting fears!! We hired our first baby-sitter on Friday evening!! I discussed some of our fears HERE in this post.  But we finally did it...only took us almost 8 months. Ha! The girl we hired did a great job and we'll definitely be calling her again soon!!

Sean's company Christmas party was Friday night and we had an awesome time! Pretty much all of my closest friends here in Camden are "Lockheed wives" so it's always a fun time!

Saturday morning an organization that I'm a member of, PAWE (Professional Association of Women Educators), had our annual Christmas Brunch fundraiser. It was so nice seeing all of my teacher friends, eating great food, and browsing the silent auction items. Saturday evening the three of us headed to El Dorado for dinner and to pick up our last two Christmas gifts.

Sunday Sean spent the afternoon working outside in the shop, so I took the opportunity to bundle Wyatt up and get out of the house.  It's one of the first sunny days we've had here in a while so I wanted to take advantage of it.  You'd think, by the way that he's dressed, it was -30 degrees here. HA!

I also had the opportunity this weekend to finish up wrapping Christmas presents.  This was our last weekend at home before Christmas and I didn't want to be stressed all week trying to get everything done.

The countdown is on...10 days until Christmas!!

Five on Friday {Christmas Home Tour 2013}

Friday, December 13, 2013

 I'm so excited to share with you how we decorate our home for Christmas!

{1} As you can see, I love silver. I throw in a little red, and BAM....done!  You might notice that we're missing a stocking. Yea, my mom is working on his.  We don't actually spend Christmas in Camden, so it's more for decoration anyway.  His will defintilely be up next year.

{2} I found these adorable printables while stalkling pinterest.  You can find them HERE, plus others.

{3} I keep seeing everyone's adorable idea for the book advent...I think I'll have to do something different.  Being a teacher, I have an abundance of books.  OOH! I could wrap these and save myself money every year, great idea! HA!

{4} This is our decorative tree on our dining room table, again, silver.
{5} And our Christmas tree. I love our tree, nothing fancy.  Most of the ornaments are our family ornaments that we get each year, with a few that people have given us.  I actually took this picture several days ago and now it's littered with presents....so exciting!
