17 Months!!

Friday, September 26, 2014

Wyatt,
17 months!! It doesn't seem possible, and you're about to be a big brother! I'm so ready to see you as you embrace your new role. You're such a happy and busy guy. You don't ever stop, unless you're sleeping. You definitely keep us on our toes. You've done so great with all the house work this month. We've had a lot of transitions and you have just rolled with the punches, much better than mama has.  It's hard to think that this is the last monthly update where you're our only baby. We love you so much!

What you did this month:
  • You weigh somewhere around 26 pounds and are around 36 inches tall.
  • You are wearing size 5 diapers.
  • You wear size 18 months in shorts, 2T in pants, and 24M/2T in shirts.
  • Your favorite foods right now are yogurt, spaghetti, pizza, French fries and any kind of fruit. You also discovered that you're a fan of ketchup, although, I don't always offer it and you're ok with that. Oh, and "special milk", aka, chocolate milk (which is about 98% milk and 2% chocolate).
  • You usually wake up between 7:30 & 8, take a nap around noon for about 2.5 hours, and go down at night around 8.
  • You are officially sleeping all through the night!! It's been so nice, and an answered prayer!!
  • You met your baby cousin, Aria. You did OK for a second while mama held her. Hoping it'll be easier when we're at home with Stella.
  • You have started putting your hand up next to your ear when you're "listening" or you hear something.
  • Your favorite things to say are "uh-oh" and "Where'd it go?" (with hands up), but you babble and "talk" all day long.
  • You have 10  teeth now.
  • Sometimes I can get you to point to your ears, bellybutton, nose, head, and tummy. You have to be in the mood though.
  • You still really enjoy Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
  • You started school this month. You attend Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-11:30.  You cry when I drop you off but are starting to do better when I'm not there. Well, until all the kids start leaving and you get upset again. I guess you think someone else is going to take you, or I'm not coming.
  • You seem to comprehend just about everything we say.  Although you don't always listen.  But you do usually fall for bribes.
  • You have started to have more "temper tantrums". Most of the time they're due to your inability to communicate with me what you want. You definitely know how to throw'em, though. You usually end up laid out on the floor screaming.
  • You are your daddy's shadow. You're always wanting to help him and be where he is.
  • You've discovered tractors and cars that make noise and move on their own. You think they're pretty awesome.

Lately

Thursday, September 25, 2014

You may have noticed I've been a bit absent lately with blogging. We've been a bit busy trying to get the house finished and cleaned up before Princess Stella arrives. Here's just a random list of things that have been going on in our lives.

  • We're still spending most of our afternoons at our friends house.  The tile laying process should be finished up tomorrow and we can finish cleaning the rest of the house. Other good news, we should be moving into our new room this weekend...finally!!!
  • My nesting instincts kicked in this week.  I really don't remember nesting with Wyatt, but it has taken over my life and my mind this time around!
  • Even though Stella won't have a room quite yet, I've got her clothes in my closet and a drawer in my bedside table full of diapers, wipes, and swaddles.
  • Speaking of closets....I've moved into mine!! It was definitely a big day in my little world when that happened!
  • I've also packed Stella's hospital bag and put it in the car, and I've installed the car seat.
  • This guy has been doing so much better at school!! Actually today I was told it was his best day yet! Made my heart happy!

  • The weather here has been beautiful and we've been spending lots of time outside, even in the afternoons!
  • I'm just trying to soak up these days with my boy! So far I've held it together pretty well, but the realization that my baby isn't going to be my baby anymore is definitely starting to hit.

Maternity Photos

Monday, September 22, 2014

While Wyatt and I were in Fayetteville last week mom took some maternity photos of me.  Surprisingly we actually got some cute shots, in-between trying to keep Wyatt from getting in the pool and climbing through the porch gate.

Stella's Shower

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, my sweet friends threw me a shower here in Camden over the weekend.  It was so nice seeing everyone, and, of course, the decorations did not disappoint!

So thankful for such sweet friends.  Unfortunately one of the hosts, Rachel, wasn't able to attend, but they all put so much time and effort in to making it beautiful.

And, of course, I was so thankful that my mom was able to come down for the afternoon!

Please Excuse My Pity Party

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Our little family has been going through  a lot in the past week, and it's definitely been the most stressed I've been during the whole renovation process. New floors are being put in throughout the entire house and everything, and I mean everything, is covered in head to toe dust. We went and stayed with family last week but had to come home because I had a shower on Saturday, plus I have doctors appointments this week. Thankfully, we have some great friends who are letting us borrow their home during the day.
Our home is in such disarray right now, I know Wyatt is so confused. His schedule is so off, we don't even have a table to sit at for dinner, and, honestly, I don't want to cook because the kitchen is just so darn filthy. Sunday was definitely the most difficult.  I felt like all I did was tell Wyatt "no".  And not because he was really doing anything bad, there's just so much "stuff" everywhere that he can't get in to.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful that we are able to make our house our dream home. As Stella's arrival gets closer and closer I just find myself becoming a little more stressed.  I know not everything is going to be finished and perfect, I'm just hoping it's clean. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, though.

Thank you for listening to me vent, I'll be back soon with some happy posts.

Lately

Wyatt and I have been enjoying some  family time the past week.  It really couldn't have come at a better time, seeing as we're getting close to that "no travel" zone.  The floors in the house are ripped out and new tile is being layed, so we thought it was a good time for us to get out

We left Camden last Thursday and headed to Van Buren to visit my dad and family for a couple days.

 ^^^^Water hose fun with great-grandma^^^^

We then headed to Fayetteville, where we still are now. We've been busy spending time with family,  running some "Stella" errands, and I've been trying to get some rest (and not stress).
^^^^Mowing with Pop^^^^

^^^^Unfortunately someone didn't want to participate in the cousin picture^^^^
^^^^Reading time with Mimi^^^^
^^^^Chick-fil-A sauce, anyone??^^^^
^^^^First trip (and last for awhile) to Chuck E Cheese^^^^

We're headed home in a few days and I can't wait to see the progress on the house since we've been gone! I'm ready to start getting ready for our baby girl!

Coconut

Thursday, September 4, 2014

  Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 35 Weeks (9/1/2014)
Size of Baby: About 18 inches and about 5 pounds.  Right now our baby is the size of a coconut!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +/- 30
Maternity Clothes: For sure!
Gender: GIRL!! STELLA ELIZABETH
Movement: All the time.  I'm a little concerned that her days and nights are backwards.  I tend to feel her more at night. It actually kept me up for a while one night. Hoping that changes soon!
Food Cravings: ANYTHING!
Food Aversions: No aversions.
What I Miss: Sleeping on my back. I can't even lay on it for a minute without feeling like I'm dying!
Sleep: Sleep is ok. I've been pretty uncomfortable at night and have had some swelling.
Symptoms: Braxton hicks, exhaustion, and some slight swelling.
Best Moment This Week: Picking Wyatt up from pre-school and hearing he had a better day on Thursday! Also, a good report at the doctor's office.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Some time with family!
