{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, August 28, 2015

I don't know about y'all, but this week has flown by for us!! We've been enjoying our last full week of summer and the weather has been so cooperative. So, here's what we've been up to this week!

{ONE}
We've been spending a lot of our days outside. With temps barely reaching the 90s we've been playing, eating, and lounging outside.

{TWO}
We, of course, had to have at least one play date at the park. And we added donuts to make it that much better!

{THREE}
With the end of summer also comes the end of the pool season. It technically doesn't end until Labor Day weekend, but with the cooler temps the water wasn't as enjoyable. So, sadly, we enjoyed our last day at the pool for the summer.

{FOUR}
Well, it's official, I'm a Mulerider. ha! Well, only about a quarter. Weeeelll, I don't think my heart could ever reeeally share with anyone but the Razorbacks. But I do start my first day on Tuesday as an instructor. To say I'm nervous would be quite the understatement. Thankfully I love our nanny that we hired so I have no worries that the kids will be perfectly fine!

{FIVE}
We had Wyatt's preschool open house last night and he loves his room! We already know his teacher, and really like her, so that will make this transition easier on the both of us. Last year he had only 3 classmates but this year, so far, he has 5. I'm excited for him to make some new friends! I think he's most excited about the farm toys and the Lego table.

Our Weekend

Monday, August 24, 2015

What a great weekend! And we've had a great Monday to start the week off right! I'm definitely soaking up these last days before school starts, for me next week and for Wyatt the following week.

We spent our weekend at home being lazy and working on the backyard. This girl started trying to be a big girl or something. She's pulling up on everything. And obviously she loves watching her daddy work outside.

And pestering her brother, and I love it.

Wyatt was a great helper for daddy. They enjoyed cutting down a tree and sharing some drinks. And I was able to get some stuff done for my class.

And how cute are these two in their matching jammies?!! And I won't even tell you how long it took to get this picture. There were tears involved. From both kids. You would have thought I was hurting them. And I was even bribing them with chocolate. I don't get it.

Thoughts for Thursday | Stella's 1st Birthday

Thursday, August 20, 2015

Planning is officially underway for Stella's first birthday! I can't even believe I just said that...
I've had the theme picked out for months, Twinkle Little Star, since she is our little star. But I just recently decided to do a breakfast/brunch party. I'm super excited about all of the ideas I've seen! Thankfully we're hosting the party at our house, or else I don't think I'd be able to pull it off.

Check out my PINTEREST BOARD to see all of my ideas.

It's the Little Things | Cooking With My Boy

Wednesday, August 19, 2015

I was able to take a little time this weekend to do some baking with my little guy. Not gonna lie, it wasn't super easy and next time I'll definitely do a lot more prep beforehand. But we had fun and he was so excited about helping.

We made Earth Bread which is something my mom used to make for us when I was young. It's so good and it has carrots and zucchini...and lots of sugar--ha!

The best part was Wyatt's face when it was ready to eat. Plus, he seemed to really enjoy it!

Here's a link to the RECIPE!

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, August 14, 2015

We are home and getting ready for the new school year that's going to start before we know it! We've had a great week but I'm definitely ready for the weekend. The next two weeks are going to be busy, busy with Sean traveling a lot and me trying to get ready to go back to work. Anyways, here's what we've done this week...

{ONE}
So thankful for amazing friends who give us their awesome toys! Wyatt hasn't wanted to do anything else since this train set has been here. He's in train heaven!

{TWO}
The temperatures have been amazing this week! We actually went to the park yesterday morning and I didn't even break a sweat. I could get used to this, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

{THREE}
These two are becoming so close--even when I thought they couldn't love each other more. Yesterday when Wyatt walked out from his room after his nap, Stella reached up for him to hold her. Thankfully he didn't take her up on it, although he's tried a couple times this week. He's so good about sharing all of his toys, old and new.

{FOUR}
I snapped this little gem on Monday on our way back home. This only lasted about 5 minutes but it was nice while it lasted.

{FIVE}
We only have a couple more weeks of swimming so we're still enjoying it when we can! Stella has become quite the little fish. Especially since she crawls out of the sun-shade every chance she gets.

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! I know school starts next week for a lot of people so make sure to have some fun!

A Really Random Update Post

Thursday, August 13, 2015

So apparently it's been nearly two weeks since I last posted anything. Seriously, y'all!! It has been a crazy couple of weeks around here! We've been busy playing and enjoying the last bit of summer!

We were able to visit with my sister and nephew, Charlie, who I hadn't seen since Christmas. I always see pictures of him but being able to see him in action is so much better. Obviously.  It's so fun seeing family you don't see often. Already looking forward to Christmas and all the family we'll be seeing again.
Fun news! JAMIE hosted a giveaway for a CHARLES RIVER rain jacket and I won! I'm so looking forward to wearing it during football season this fall! And, obviously, I got red for the Razorbacks.
There is also a little change that's coming to our family and it all happened overnight. Literally.
I am going to start working part-time. Very part-time. I was offered a position teaching a couple of classes at a local university. I'm really excited about this new opportunity! And pretty nervous at the same time. I've been spending this week working on paperwork and finding a sitter. Prayers for an easy transition would be greatly appreciated.

I've also been helping a friend who is going through her second round of cancer in two years. Yea, that has not been so fun. Prayers for who would also be greatly appreciated.

Hoping everyone is enjoying their last little bit of summer. I know many schools start on Monday and some have already started! So here's to a great year!

10 Months!!

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Our Dearest Stella,

I can't believe I've started planning your first birthday party; it doesn't even seem real! I feel like you've just grown up over night. You have a tooth, are crawling all over the place, and you're so close to pulling up. You have also started to really show your temper if you're not getting your way; you're a little dramatic. We love you baby girl!

What you did this month:
  • You are weighing about 16 pounds and roughly 28 inches long.
  • You are wearing 9M and 6-12M clothes. You wear size 9M & 12M in pajamas.
  • You are wearing size 3 diapers.
  • You nurse about about 4-5 times a day--morning, noon, night, and once/twice during the night. And eat solids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • You love eating food and really prefer to feed yourself. You're still eating some purees, yogurt, and pieces of food that we're eating. Your favorites are any (and all) carbs, yogurt, cracker, and chicken nuggets.
  • You take a morning nap around 10 for about an hour. Then you take an afternoon nap around 1:30 for about 2 hours.
  • You go to bed around 7:30 at night and you've been waking up around 1:30 and 6:00. If I'm lucky I can get you back down for an hour or so.
  • You haven't been sleeping well this month, at all. You're teething, like 3 teeth coming in, and it's caused a pretty bad cold.
  • You have 1.5 teeth. Ha! I feel like they keep poking out and then going back! But for sure one bottom tooth.
  • You're rolling over, sitting up, crawling, and pulling up to your knees!! You can even climb up the step from the den.
  • You still preferred to be rocked to sleep. Although, I am trying to put you down and pat your back until you fall asleep; that doesn't usually happen.
  • You have also started sleeping with a Glowworm.
  • You and Wyatt are always together, especially since you can follow him around everywhere. He's even tried to pick you up a few times.
  • You've also become quite a jabber box. We're pretty sure you're saying kitty, which comes out "ki" when you see the cats and you're also saying "mamama".
  • You have enjoyed going to the park and swinging.
  • You visited with your Uncle Ryan, Aunt Jessica, and Cousin Charlie this month!!

Love||Hate

Saturday, August 1, 2015

I was tagged by COURTNEY, CRYSTAL, and JAMIE to share 10 things I love and 10 things I hate. And I'll be honest, it took me a bit to make my lists. I tried to dig deep to help you get to know me better. You're welcome. ha.

1 | My family
2 | Traveling - Near, far, beach, mountains, car, plane...it doesn't matter, I love it all!
3 | Being pregnant - I was so happy, healthy, & comfortable during both of my pregnancies.
4 | Watching TV - Some people enjoy reading during their free time. I love TV. Just keepin' it real.
 5 | Diet Dr. Pepper - Preferably from Sonic.
6 | Summer - Not really the heat so much (see hates below) but I love spending days at the pool.
7 | Razorback Football - By far my favorite sport to watch. Ever.
8 | Theme parks - I love it all--the rides, food, people watching!
9 | Pedicures - My toes are always painted.
10 | Sleep - I'm really just not pleasant without it.

1 | Chores - Yep, all of 'em!
2 | Being hot - I hate sweating.
3 | Driving in traffic - Ever since the WRECK we were in back in I can't stand to drive, or ride, in traffic. It makes me so anxious.
4 | Shots/Needles - I get light headed and nearly pass out any time I have to get a shot, IV, or give blood. It's the worst. True story: I nearly passed out getting the FluMist the first time because I thought it was a shot in my nose. Yep, true story. And my mom was the one doing it. #embarrassing
5 | I can not stand tomatoes or onions.
6 | Storms - I'm terrified of tornadoes.
7 | Heights
8 | When people talk/sing during a movie or song that I'm trying to listen to. Or say the wrong words, on purpose, during a song I'm singing. Because obviously I sound amazing. But, seriously, it drives me nuts.
9 | Being cold - Most of the time I'm walking around my house in pants and a sweatshirt.
10 | Living so far from our family.
