{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, September 30, 2016

This week has flown by over here, and I'm thanking the cooler weather! We've spent a majority of our week outside and it's been amazing!

{ONE}
Like I mentioned, fall has finally arrived and we're loving these cooler temps! We visited the park three times this week, and I wouldn't be surprised if we're not there again today. They were so excited to finally be back at "little park"...we can only go when it's cool since there's no shade.

{TWO}
Since the weather has been so nice we've been doing everything outside. I'm a little bit Type-A and really hate messes, so it was the perfect time to get outside and do some painting. Wyatt loved mixing the colors and making black, while Stella enjoyed painting herself. And I think there was more paint on the patio then the paper.

{THREE}
We celebrated our favorite guy this week! I made his favorite for dinner...BLTs and we enjoyed some yummy store bought cheesecake. Looking forward to a date with him this weekend to celebrate some more!

{FOUR}
All things pumpkin, Fall, Halloween...you name it, we're there. We are officially in matching Halloween pajamas and my heart could not be more happy.

{FIVE}
THANK YOU!!
I really appreciate all the kind words and prayers after yesterday's post--I can definitely feel the love.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! We're looking forward to enjoying the outdoors and some Arkansas Razorback football!

Lately

Thursday, September 29, 2016

You may have noticed that I've been a bit absent lately. There's a lot going on around here, and yet, things that I'm not comfortable sharing right now.

We're all happy, healthy, and thriving but being an adult is difficult at times. And I'll feel a lot better when I can share all that's been going on around here. Hang with me and I will be sharing our week in my Friday post tomorrow.

Our Fall Bucket List

Thursday, September 22, 2016

The first day of fall has finally arrived! With the arrival of fall comes the immediate anticipation of cooler temperatures and, of course, all things pumpkin.

Our fall bucket list doesn't contain anything too out of the norm. A couple of things not on the list -- a special little girl's second birthday and a mother/daughter trip to Waco!
We're excited to do some fun things as a family and enjoy the outdoors!

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, September 16, 2016

It's finally Friday...and I'm finally posting a Friday post!! Whoop, whoop!!
We've had a pretty great week around here--here's a bit of what we've been up to!

{ONE}
I'm starting with these two, because seriously, they have been killing it with kindness this week. After dance class on Wednesday, Stella came into the lobby and Wyatt kept hugging her and telling her how much he missed her. My heart fell on the floor right then and there. He did the same thing again on Thursday when I picked them up from school. I don't know what's going on, but I love it!

{TWO}
Speaking of dance, Stella is loving it! This week she went in all by herself and I was told she did great! We practiced wearing her dance shoes all week, so she'd be prepared, and she is definitely a fan. I have to hide them from her.

{THREE}
We've been going through a bit of a rough patch with Wyatt and his listening skills. We're making some progress though, and today he got ice cream since he was able to get 5 sticks in his "listening jar".

{FOUR}
We've been soaking up, what will hopefully be, the last of summer. As great a summer as we've had, I'm really ready for some cooler mornings and evenings. The humidity is still so crazy and is still making it miserable outside.

{FIVE}
What time is it??  Football season has finally arrived and, so far, our beloved HOGS are on a winning streak! Praying we can keep it up this week too!

If you haven't heard, I've teamed up with Jord Wood Watches and you can enter to win a $75 coupon towards a watch of your own!! Just follow this link--and hurry, the giveaway ends Sunday night!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! We're planning on completing some small DIY projects and hanging outside on the patio to while watching the Hogs!!

Arkansas Railroad Museum

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

On Saturday we made an impromptu trip to a neighboring town to visit the Arkansas Railroad Museum. If you have followed any of my social media sites, for any amount of time, you are pretty aware of our love for trains. Whether we're watching, riding, or climbing on trains...we're happy.

This museum is completely hands-on. They have rows of train cars that are open for your viewing and climbing pleasure. They also have a few models trains set up and running, plus a little mechanical train.

It was really a great place and the kids absolutely loved it. They were sweaty, dirty, and exhausted by the time we left. I know we will definitely make a trip back once the temps drop a little (it was extremely hot).

Wyatt & Mommy Date

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Last week Wyatt's class had their first field trip of the year--the county fair. We go every year to check out the animals, and like every year, Wyatt could really have cared less about the animals.

We did finally make it around to the bunnies and he was pretty excited to see them. I'm pretty sure that's only because we are always petting the ones at our local farm store.

I loved watching him interact with his friends. He's such a social butterfly these days, such a drastic difference from when he first started school.

After the fair we had quite a bit of time before we had to get Stella, so we stopped in at the library. It was so much easier just having him with me. We were actually able to sit and read a few books together.
I think we both loved our alone time together and really need to do it more often. Love my big boy!

A Day in the Life: Summer 2016

Thursday, September 8, 2016

This is what a typical summer day looks like in our house.

Date: August 25, 2016
Wyatt: 3 years, 3 months, & 30 days
Stella: 1 year, 10 months, & 14 days

7:00--Wyatt's up and in my bed for our morning snuggles. We usually watch a show or movie while I wake up.

7:30--Sissy is finally up...and cranky. Reading usually calms her down and makes her happy. So does food.

7:45--Finally get around to making my coffee...and then I'm needed in the bathroom. Story of my life.

7:55--Finally get Wyatt around to eat some breakfast and then it's time to brush our teeth. And remove all of our toys from the bathroom.

 8:00--A little play time while I try and chug some coffee. And before I'm needed in another bathroom.

9:00--Finally got the kids outside. They could play with the water hose for hours...

11:00--Snack and Star Wars for Wyatt, and a little snack and iPad time for Sis.

11:45--Lunch and clean-up. Stella insists on sitting in "daddy's seat" when at all possible.

1:00--Promised them a their suckers, so we headed outside to watch the rain blow in.

2:15--Finally got them down for naps and it's mommy time!

5:30--Get the kids up, fed, and dressed for Open House at school.
Raining, so indoor pictures will have to work.

6:06--Met Wyatt's new teacher and played in his new room. Stella's teacher was out so we left afterwards.

8:00--Before bed snuggles and video games with daddy.

Full day and that's a wrap!
