10 Months!!

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Wyatt,
Happy 10 months, Pea-pie! You are our fearless curious boy and we love you for that.  You definitely keep us on our toes day and night. It's so hard to believe that in two short months you'll be a year old! Your love for your daddy absolutely melts this mama's heart, you are two peas in a pod.  We love you so much, baby boy!

What you did this month:
  • You weigh 21 pounds, 15 ounces.
  • You are wearing size 3 diapers.
  • You are wearing size 12 months and 12-18 months clothing.
  • You drink about 20 ounces of formula everday.
  • You eat solids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • You absolutely love yogurt! When you see it go in the cart you immediately start grunting.
  • You are taking naps around 10:00 and 3:00, and you sleep for 1.5 - 2 hours.  You down at night around 7:30, wake once, and then sleep until 7:30/8 in the morning.
  • You had another upper respiratory infection this month.
  • You started pulling-up and climbing this month. Your favorite thing to climb on is the fireplace because you can look out the window.
  • You are clapping, high-fiving, and sort-of waving bye-bye.  We're really working on blowing kisses.
  • Your favorite game is Da-da, where are you? I say it and then you intensely search the house until you find da-da.  (Don't worry, I'm not mean, we only do it when he's home.)
  • You make word connections with: da-da, bottle, kitty cat, (sometimes) book, Mickey Mouse, and a few others.
  • You were baptized this month in Fayetteville.
  • You have a new favorite show, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

She also has some adorable swimsuit options. I highly suggest checking out her Facebook page and ordering something, or a few things. And don't forget to comment with SOLD, EMAIL, AND SIZE.

Happy Monday! {finally}

Monday, February 24, 2014

Well, I'm happy to say that we are all back and fully recovered from what I'd like to call, the cold from hell. We had a wonderful week last week, with plenty of outside fun!  If you follow me on Instagram, I apologize, you've probably seen these pictures, but if you don't then you should!  HA! Just click on the Instagram icon to the right and follow away!

Big things have been happening in our home.  As you can see Wyatt is offically all over everything!  As of this weekend he's even climbing...aaaahhhhhh!!  Let's just say I'm pretty much always a nervous wreck.  I mean, he lets me know he's ready to get out of the tub by pretty much throwing himself over the side.

As I mentioned, we had a lot of beautiful weather last week so that meant tons of outside time, which Wyatt loves! He now whines when I have to let Angel out in the mornings and he can't go too.

We even had our first adventure on the golf course with daddy! Wyatt had an amazing time and lasted all 18 holes! To say we were all tired aftewards is an understatement....Wyatt was asleep before we even pulled out of the parking lot.

Definitely wishing this warmer weather was here to stay but it looks like winter is making its way back into the forecast this week.  BOO! Hope you enjoyed the warmer temps, while they lasted, where you are too!

Happy Monday!

Favorite Things {6-9 months}

Thursday, February 20, 2014

I recently realized I hadn't shared any of Wyatt's favorite things recently.  This is really the first post where I've actually listed toys.  Up until recently he pretty much just enjoyed teethers and practical baby items.
ONE - Wyatt has always been obsessed with Brown Bear, but it's even better now that he can identify what I'm talking about when I say, "Where's brown bear, Wyatt?"
TWO - He loooves this music player, it goes everywhere with us! It almost seems like he has his favorite songs too.  We'll hear him push the button to skip songs until  he finds the one he likes.
THREE - He would sit and let me read Little Blue Truck all day to him! We also have Little Blue Truck Leads the Way, but he definitely prefers the original.
FOUR - He was just given this musical seahorse at Christmas and it's already a staple in the crib.  It's nice because it only plays for 5 minutes and he can turn it on himself if he wants to.
FIVE - Now that he has learned how to get this farm to make all the noises, he loves it. He will just sit and open/close the doors to hear the songs and sounds.  He also thoroughly enjoys chewing on the animals.
SIX - Again, this poppin' pals toy is a new favorite from Christmas. Wyatt hasn't quite masted making them all "pop" but he definitely enjoys closing them, over and over and over.....
SEVEN - This is one of those toys that I don't think babies are ever too young for.  He loves to just sit and listen to all of the animal sounds and songs.
EIGHT - This is another item that travels with us.  It has quite a few features that he loves.  It's not the best quality but I'm sure for the price it's worth it.

You can also check out Wyatt's favorite things from {0-3 Months} and {3-6 Months}.

A Valentine for Da-da

Monday, February 17, 2014

I know, I know...I'm just now getting around to posting this sweet little Valentine we made for our favorite person.  Now, I'm not even going to lie, we didn't get around to it until Friday morning, or there may have been a re-do.  HA! Oh, well, I love the reality of it....a kicking 9.5 month baby boy who didn't want paint on his feet.

Realities of a Sick Mama

Sunday, February 16, 2014

I have officially been sick with this terrible, awful, no good, very bad cold for a week now, and I'm over it.  It has completely wiped me out this week. I thought I'd share what has been going on in the Dorey house this week, since obviously it's not blogging.
  1. We've watched way too much TV.
  2. Household chores are non-existent.
  3. Sleeping is a must for Wyatt and mama.
  4. 7:30 PM doesn't come soon enough.
  5. We have slept, eaten, and played in our pajamas.
  6. It's been an eat-what-you-can-find kind of week.
  7. A lot of horizontal play-time.
  8. And sleep...did I mention that already?

But, on the bright side, here are a few pics of our little man.

Our Weekend

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Well, it's Tuesday and I'm just now getting around to sharing our weekend. We've already been to the doctor this week and Wyatt's on another round of antibiotics for an URI, poor guy can't catch a break...Too bad the doc just told me to tough it out, ha!

Over the weekend Wyatt was baptized in Fayetteville in the church where I was raised and where Sean and I were married.  So, Friday we drove up to Fayetteville, in what I would dramatically call a blizzard.  Coming from someone who has not seen snow in person all season long I was pretty excited, until we I couldn't see the road, even though I wasn't driving.  Anyway, we made it safe and sound.

Sean and Wyatt hadn't been feeling well for most of the week so Saturday morning was spent resting.  Sean and I escaped in the afternoon for a little shopping (this detail will be important soon) and to see American Hustle, which I'd been dying to see since December and it did not disappoint.   And we arrived back at the house just in time for a delicious home cooked meal.
Sunday morning started early. The service for Wyatt's baptism started at 8:30 so we I was up and at'em.  And as I mentioned above, Wyatt had not been feeling well so that meant little sleep for everyone.  I was actually a little ahead of schedule so I decided to let Sean keep Wyatt company in bed, and get as much sleep as possible, while I ironed Sean's attire.  Now, I do iron Sean's pants for work on a pretty routine basis, just so you know.  Well, I had the iron set and ready to go, put the iron on the pants, and BAM! there was a huge melted hole right in the leg of Sean's pants.  Apparently, polyster doesn't take well to high heat. So, after almost passing out and throwing up, I went to my mother's room (she'd know what to do) and tried to explain to her what happened.  Luckily, my always on top of it step-dad was ready (an hour early) and lovingly agreed to go to Wal-Mart and pick up some pants. In the mean time, I calmed down and continued ironing Sean's shirt, when I remembered.....we bought new black dress pants yesterday. WOW, y'all! That was a morning to remember.
Somehow we still made it to the church on time, although, I  was a bit frazzled.  The service was beautiful and Wyatt was so wonderful through the baptism. It was so nice to have all of our family there to be a part of his special day.  And afterwards we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast at COMMON GROUNDS.

We had a great weekend and we're now all trying to get over this silly cold that wont' go away!

Trendy Tot Tuesday: Birthday Attire

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

I have been working on plans for Wyatt's first birthday, and, of course, one of the most important details is his attire. ;) I'd love to hear your thoughts on these shirts.  All of the pictures are linked back to their Etsy store.

I think this one is my favorite! I love the fabric choices, and obviously navy and red are the colors of the party.
Personalized Airplane Tee - You Choose your Fabrics - by Pocketbaby
I do like that this shirt comes with a matching hat.  It would be so cute for pictures...if he'll keep it on!
Vintage Navy Blue Dot or Chevron and Red BIPLANE Airplane Boys or Girls Birthday Applique Shirt or Body Suit with NAME Pick your Colors
This one is similar to the first one but the fabric is different.

A Day in the Life {January 30, 2014}

Monday, February 3, 2014

I have decided to follow suite of many blogs I read and do a day in the life post. This was our day on January 30th. It was by no means a typical day, but it was a busy great day! And please excuse the poor quality of the phone pictures, it was the easiest way of capturing the day.

8:09 Wake up to Angel sleeping on my leg. Grab my phone and reply to a text from Sean, text a friend about lunch plans, and check Instagram (New follower, HATCH AND MAAS COLLECTIVE).
8:17 Get out of bed and head to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
8:26 Feed Angel and let her outside, Mister tags along with her.
8:28 Grab a protein bar and eat.
8:33 Throw in a load of laundry, fold a few clean towels, and put the rest of the clean clothes in a basket for later. Load and start dishwasher and hand wash a few that won't fit, and wipe down countertops.
8:50 Hear Wyatt stirring so I go ahead and prepare his bottle.
**Wyatt is typically awake around 7:30 but he hasn't been sleeping well at night (due to teething) so I let him sleep later. **
8:52 Angel politely barks to let me know it's cold outside and she and Mister want in.
8:53 Go in to get Wyatt and feed him his bottle
9:13 Change his diaper (TWICE! apparently he wasn't finished) and get him dressed.
9:24 Put Wyatt's basket of clean clothes away while he plays in his room.
9:40 Head to the kitchen to makes Wyatt's breakfast while Wyatt shows the cats how to use their new kitty door (ugh...more on that later).
9:46 We sit down to eat: Waffle, cheese, and Apple yogurt with applesauce mixed in. I eat the other half of the waffle.
10:03 Wyatt plays while I clean up and then join him in the living room.
10:36 Wyatt goes down for his morning nap.
**Again, I know he's only been awake about 1.5 hours but usually it's been closer to 3.  At least he knows his schedule.**
10:39 I put clothes in the dryer, pick up the living room, and sweep. Then I sit down with my coffee and animal crackers for some blog reading.
11:20 I jump in the shower and get ready for out outing.
11:47 Start car and throw together lunch for Wyatt: Cheese toast, remaining yogurt, peas & carrots, and some crackers (I never know what he'll be in the mood for).
11:56 Get Wyatt up, change his diaper, and put on his coat.
**Our typical errrand time is after his morning nap and lunch.**

12:03 In the car and headed to a lunch date with friends.
12:49 Quick trip to Hibbett Sports to look at shoes for Wyatt.
1:08 Head home.
1:19 Try to feed Wyatt his bottle but he'd rather play and eat crackers.
2:02 Put in Mary Poppins while he finishes bottle.
2:28 Put Wyatt down for his nap and I grab the iPad to do some blogging and reading.
2:41 Wyatt's officially asleep.
3:26 I do some random chores: fold laundry, put away clean dishes, iron some clothes, and start another load of laundry.
4:00 Recieve a group text about getting together for dinner with our families.  Discuss with Sean over text and decide, why not.
4:21 I sit down with my bowl of grapes and watch my daily dose of Ellen.
**On a typical day I would start dinner sometime around 5.**
5:30 Wyatt wakes up so I fix him a bottle and go in and get him.  Sean gets home while I'm feeding him.
5:44 I prepare Wyatt's dinner since we're going out while Sean keeps Wyatt busy.
6:03 We head to dinner.
8:06 We return home and I prepare Wyatt's bottle, get him ready for bed, feed him, and put him to bed.  While I'm doing that, Sean is putting clothes in the dryer.
**A typical night Wyatt would have had a bath at 7 and started eating his bottle about 7:30.**
8:30 I sit my booty down on the couch next to my hubby and we enjoy some amazing trash TV.
9:57 We head to bed.

And that pretty much sums up our day.  Again, not typical at all.  We very rarely eat out during the week, and it never happens twice in the same day!
What's a day look like in your house?
