Blush & Bashful

Saturday, October 27, 2012

My friend, Candi, and I hosted a shower for our dear friend Rachel who is expecting a little girl in January.  We thought what could be a better theme than pink??  We decorated everything in pink and all I could think about was the movie Steel Magnolias and the colors in her wedding, blush & bashful.  It turned out wonderful and we were all very pleased with the outcome!

Naval Orange

Friday, October 26, 2012

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 15 Weeks (10/25/12)
Size of baby: 4.0 inches and about 2.5 ounces. Right now our baby is the size of a naval orange!!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +/- 10 pounds
Maternity Clothes: I have worn a few maternity tops, size small and I have used my Bella Band four times.
Gender: Now I definitely think "Three's" a girl.  I don't have any reasons to but that's what I think.  Everyone refers to "Three" as a "her".
Movement: I think I may have felt a few movements.  It's either "her" moving or gas. ;)
Food Cravings: Canned green beans and Velveeta Shells and Cheese....not sure why??
Food Aversion: Hummus and Mexican food :(
What I miss: Diet Dr. Pepper!! I've had a few sips when Sean gets one and it's soooo good!! I made some decaffeinated sweet tea and it makes me feel a little better.  It's a little something besides water.
Sleep: I'm still sleeping great at night!
Symptoms: My exhaustion has definitely worn off this week, which has been amazing! I actually worked out once this week.  Still having some acne issues but other than that I'm feeling great!   I've also started having shortness of breath...it's ridiculous! Oh, and just eating my little heart out....
Best Moment this week: Getting ready for Rachel's shower.
What I am looking forward to: Sean getting home from his motorcycle trip!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +/- 8 pounds :/
Maternity Clothes: I have worn a few maternity tops, size small and I have used my Bella Band four times.
Gender: I think it's a boy.  I'm just guessing based on symptoms...hungry all the time and craving "real food".  Several people I work with tell me they think it's a girl...not sure what that's based on. :)  But now Sean and I are also calling "Three" a "she".
Movement: I think I may have felt a few movements.  It's either "her" moving or gas. ;)
Food Cravings: Canned green beans and Velveeta Shells and Cheese....not sure why??

Sleep: I'm still sleeping great at night!
Symptoms: This week I've been really exhausted.  It was nice to sleep in over the weekend and catch up on some much needed rest.   I've also been a little more emotional lately and I've had a few weird dreams.  Acne has definitely stepped it up a notch, every time I turn around there's a new pimple! :(
Best Moment this week: Hearing "Three's" heartbeat again!!
What I am looking forward to: Preparing for and having Rachel's baby shower next weekend!

First Trimester

After we found out we were expecting our little "Three" of course one of the first things I did was call the doctor.  When I called they told me they wouldn't see me until 10 weeks...10 weeks!! We had to wait 6 whole weeks to even get in to see the doctor.  Our original plan was to wait until our Dr.'s appt before we told anyone.  Well, that didn't happen.  We went to Fayetteville for Labor Day weekend and I was 7 weeks.  We ended up telling our mom's that weekend.

We finally had our first appointment on September 19th.  I had to do a urine sample, blood work, and a pap smear, and oh, yea....we heard "Three's" heartbeat!! It was so exciting!! I didn't really know what to expect so I just asked if it was a good heartbeat and Dr. Ratcliff said it was an "excellent heartbeat".  We were so excited.  Then we were officially ready to tell the rest of our closest friends and family.  We told them on Sean's birthday.  It was great becuase everyone thought we were just celebrating Sean's birthday.....SURPRISE!!
This is Angel in her shirt telling Mimi and PopPop!

These are a few pictures from Sean's birthday!

This is the announcement we sent out to the rest of our family.

Surprise!!

Saturday, October 20, 2012

We found out we were pregnant with "Three" on August 11.
I was only about a day late but I hadn't had any spotting during the week, which was unusual.
I took a pregnancy test while Sean was at work, mainly so I'd just quit thinking about it.
Of course the lines came up almost immediately and I immediately started crying.
I was basically in shock and kept running around the house like a crazy person.
I was frantically trying to come up with a special way to tell Sean, knowing he'd be home in about 30 minutes.  This is what I finally came up with......

I kept looking at the frame making sure both lines were still there.
I guess I thought it was wrong and they would disappear!
Of course then I started drinking a ton of water so I could try and take another test.
I needed as much proof as possible!

Sean was in shock for a few days.  Of course, we were trying to get pregnant, but I guess it's just such a surprise when it finally does happen.  Once it set in he couldn't contain his excitement!

This was taken the day we found out

Razorback Football

Sunday, October 14, 2012

This weekend Sean and I headed to Fayetteville.  Some of my mom's family came to town from Nashville and we all headed to the rainy Razorback game.  I was really excited, though....it was the first football game I'd been to since college!  We enjoyed the game, even through the delay.  We ended up leaving at half time, but not before seeing Randy Jackson! That's right...Randy Jackson from American Idol!
Apparently a former Miss UofA's husband submitted her name for AI and Randy came to hear her sing!  He gave her an audition number and invited her to come audition in front of all of the judges.  Fayetteville is definitely making a name for itself....that's the second t.v. show that's been to Fayetteville this year!
