PHONE!!

I have been wanting an iPhone since they very first came out!! I was so excited when Sean surprised me yesterday with one.  He was really trying to be sneaky but he didn't think about my other phone not working once he activated the iphone.  I got a little suspicious when I couldn't use my phone while at work.  He tried so hard!!  I got home and was so giggly, I couldn't wait.  He couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.  Then he asked if I'd get him a drink and when I opened the cabinet. . . there it was!!

I'm pretty excited. . . if you couldn't already tell!

Fun-Filled Weekend

Sunday, January 23, 2011

This weekend was one of the first weekends we've had in a while that was actually "busy".  I feel like so many of our weekends are just spent hanging around the house (There's not a great deal of options here in Camden).  I enjoy weekends like this, it makes me feel like I've actually done something.
We started the weekend on Friday by going to our favorite Mexican restaurant in town, Guadalajara.  After dinner we went home and relaxed and watched two silly movies, Grown Ups and Dinner for Schmucks.  I'm such a sucker for goofy movies so I loved them both!

Saturday we started the day off slow by just hanging out and watching t.v.  We then went to our friends house for their son's 3rd birthday party.  We went early to help them get things ready and hang out.  It was so much fun!  I love being around all of those little ones. It was  dinosuar themed party and we all had dinosaur masks, it was so much fun!  We played with toys inside and then went outside for the dinosaur pinata! It was so cute seeing them try and hit it. . . they had to have a little help from the big boys.  After the party we went home and relaxed the rest of the night.  It's amazing, but that party wore me out and I didn't even have a kid at the party!

Sunday we woke up and got ready for church.  We've been attending First United Methodist here in Camden.  We've really been enjoying it.  After church we came home, got changed, and went to Popeye's in El Dorado.  Then we went to see True Grit.  I really had no idea what that movie was going to be  about, but it was so GOOD!  The rest of the night will be filled with football and Sunday night television.

Water for Elephants

Saturday, January 15, 2011

I just finished reading this book, Water for Elephants.  It was such a good book. . . it only took me three days to read it.  If anyone knows anything about me and reading, they know it doesn't happen often.  It was a love story but a very good one.  A little reminiscent of The Notebook, how it goes back and forth between two time periods of the same character(s). I really enjoyed getting to the end and realizing how many anecdotes were written into the story.  I highly recommend this book!  And of course the best part. . . it's going to be a movie, starring none other than Rob Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon (two of my faves)!

You can watch the trailer below.

Winter Storm Warning

Sunday, January 9, 2011

I am so excited!! Since I have lived in Camden I have seen snow accumulation once, and we didn't even get out of school because it wasn't on the roads.  Now, I'm not trying to get my hopes up because it has been pretty warm.  But even just seeing it snow makes me so excited!  If we do get out, well that would just be an added perk.

Weather Update

Well, this morning it started sleeting about 10:30.  It wasn't looking too promising considering it was melting all over the road.  We made our way to Wal-Mart to pick up our weekly necessities.  By the time we started driving home it was definite that the roads were starting to get greasy.  After being home for about 30 minutes it finally started to snow.

As of 1:00 this is the accumulation we had

and this was at 2:45.

We're going to go and see what kind of trouble we can find now!

New Year's Resolutions 2011

Sunday, January 2, 2011

I've really never been the type to create new year's resolutions, but I figure this year I'm going to give it a shot.  There are a few things (probably more than a few) that I could do to better my life (or maybe just make it easier).  I know in reality today is the 2nd and resolutions should probably start on the 1st, but it's so much easier to start new routines on a Monday!

  1. Quit biting fingernails - I know, it's disgusting
  2. Lose 5-10 pounds, or at least get back into my exercise routine
  3. Start getting up at 5:15ish, on week days
  4. Read the Bible, yes the whole thing
  5. Make the bed everyday
  6. Find a church in Camden to attend regularly, and maybe even become members

Hopefully with only 6 resolutions we can fulfill at least one of them!

Christmas 2010

Saturday, January 1, 2011

We started out celebrating Christmas in Van Buren. We arrived on the 22nd so we could finish up some last minute shopping.  Christmas Eve we had lunch at my grandparent's home and then we opened presents.  There was a pretty good turn out, although not as many as Thanksgiving.  Here are some pics, mainly of cousins!  We then headed back to my dad's house to open presents.

We then left VB and headed north to Fayetteville.  We celebrated Christmas with Sean's family at his brother's house. It's always wonderful to see our niece and nephew!!

Already tired and weary we headed to our last stop for the night at my mom's.  We hit they hay and then got up bright and early to celebrate Christmas.  It was actually a pretty relaxing day.  We opened present first thing in the morning, got around, ate lunch, and then played Xbox Kinect pretty much the rest of the day.

The rest of the time consisted of visiting with friends and family, and of course hitting up the good sales!!
