{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, July 31, 2015

I've really enjoyed this week at home, thankfully it's gone by slow. And I'm definitely not complaining about that since I know the school year is coming up quick. I've already been cringing at the thought of having to set an alarm again. Ha. Anyway, here are some of my favorite moments from this week!

{ONE}
The Bachelorette. I don't usually get real involved in  who the Bachelor/Bachelorette chooses, but I have to say I picked Shawn from night one and I was so happy to see her choose him!!! I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I've been a little stalker-ish on Instagram. And I'm not on SnapChat but I've been really considering after seeing all their pics. Ha!

{TWO}
This girl thinks she's growing up or something. I shared all my feelings on that YESTERDAY. No, but really, we have to lower the crib. Baby girl is about to try and jump out.

{THREE}
I ran and grabbed my phone after finding these two quietly playing for a good 10 minutes the other day. Really, that never happens. Stella is pretty content playing without me around. On the other hand, Wyatt doesn't let me out of his site too much.

{FOUR}
Sean and I have been spending our evenings watching TV and munching on this goodness! I'd rather have ice cream over alcohol on any night. Minus the calories. #truth

{FIVE}
 This pictures wasn't technically taken this week but my mom emailed it to me this week, so....yea. I love it! This was right before my dear hubby threw me in the pool. And it hurt. But I do love the fun we have and the memories we make when we're swimming.

Those are my five! I'm trying not to be super jealous that Wyatt and Sean are headed to the lake for a guys day with friends tomorrow! Stella and I will enjoy our quiet time at home. Heck, I may even take a nap...and get all the clean clothes put away! ha

Thoughts for Thusday | All the Feels

Thursday, July 30, 2015

Yep. I've been feeling them all lately. With Stella growing more and more everyday my emotions have been all over the place. Honestly, I didn't go through this with Wyatt. By the time Wyatt was nine months old I was already pregnant and wishing for him to grow up. I was over the breastfeeding and preparing for another little one to enter our lives.

It's been much different this time around. And with Stella I'm trying to keep her little as she's trying to grow up. I shared about our trip to CHICAGO yesterday. What I didn't mention was how our EBF daughter refused bottles the entire time we were gone. She survived, my mother survived, and Stella stayed her happy self the entire time we were gone. But now that we're back she's weaning and nursing about half the time she was before we left. She's self weaning much earlier than I had expected and it's been hard on me the past couple of days. While we were away she also started rolling over in her crib and sleeping on her tummy. I know it's a little thing but it's just proof of how much she's growing.

  I'm overwhelmed at the thought of Wyatt starting back to school again and going three mornings a week. He's talking more and more and just too big for his own britches. And we're about to start potty training which is another huge milestone of growing up for our baby boy.

With both of our babies getting so big I can't help but think of bringing another little baby into our family. I know, crazy right. Obviously I'm not really ready for another baby, but I've been pregnant or with a baby for the past 2.5 years. I'm not sure how to function without one or the other. Ha.

I'm pretty sure Sean thinks I've gone off the deep end. I started crying over ice cream the other day and felt so crazy afterwards. Thankfully he's been supportive and reminds me to laugh at myself when my hormones get the best of me.

It's the Little Things | A Movie Date

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

While we were in Fayetteville over the weekend Sean and I took advantage of having some childcare for Stella and took Wyatt out for his first movie. We'd been talking about taking him to the Minions movie since we first saw it advertised. He's obsessed with Despicable Me and we knew he'd love it!
I think he was pretty confused about what we were doing but he did great. We only had to leave the theater once because he was hungry and didn't want popcorn. Apparently now I know to take more than just fruit snacks.

Towards the end of the movie he did get a little restless and sat in my lap. Until he started trying to talk to the gentleman in front of us because he thought it was Pop. Oh my. I'm just glad we were able to have a little one on one time with our baby boy; it doesn't happen often.

Our Weekend Away

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

Sean and I went on our first solo trip since Wyatt's birth. We started planning several months ago but, honestly, nothing prepares you for leaving your EBF 9 month old. Ha. I knew Wyatt would be great but I was so worried about Stella. Their Mimi and Pop took such good care of them and they both had a great time. I don't think they even knew we were gone!

Sean and I headed up to Chicago on Wednesday morning.

 We stopped in STL for lunch at BOGART'S and continued on. We arrived in CHI around 5:30 and thankfully the traffic wasn't bad at all. We made it to our HOTEL and then headed out for sightseeing and dinner. We ate at LOU MALNATI'S and then headed to a movie. We hadn't been to a movie since Stella's been born so it was a big deal. Ha!

It was so nice to leisurely stroll back to our hotel after the movie. We enjoyed taking in all the nighttime sights of the city.
 We got up Thursday morning for some more sightseeing. We visited Cloud Gate (AKA, The Bean), Chicago Public Library Foundation, and took the train to the Museum of Science and Industry. We finished out our day in the city with a late lunch at PETTERINO'S and quick stop at Starbucks.

We then drove south about an hour to Tinley Park where we were seeing Deftones and Incubus in concert that night. Unfortunately I had a migraine when we arrived at the hotel but had some time to take medicine and a get a quick nap. And thankfully felt much better by concert time!

We had an awesome time and felt like we were in our early 20s again! It was just what we needed and we're already talking about when we're going to take the kids to Chicago. There's so much fun stuff to do!

Christmas in July Gift Swap

Monday, July 27, 2015

The kids participated in a Christmas in July gift swap last week hosted by COURTNEY, JAMIE, LIZ, and AMANDA. We participated in the same swap last summer, you can check that out HERE.

We were paired up with ELISABETH and her daughter Grace. They sent the perfect gifts for Wyatt and Stella. They received some Hape blocks, bubbles, a plush snake, some pool toys, a Paw Patrol toy, stickers, a doll, some glow balloons, and of course, fruit snacks. Definitely some great items to keep the kiddos busy on hot days!

 Wyatt was super excited about all of the fun goodies and Stella enjoys what Wyatt will let her, ha. The gifts were perfect for the two of them since they can both play with it all.
Thanks ladies for hosting this awesome swap! And you can head over to COURTENY'S blog to check out what Wyatt and Stella sent her daughter, Aria.

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, July 17, 2015

We've had a great week at home and I know the greatness will continue into the weekend. Of course I am already prepping for our next adventure next week. More on that later though. Here are my five favorite moments from this week!

{ONE}
This. Wyatt's finally to the point where he's actually interested in his sister. Not all the time, but most of the time. I love it when he gives her kisses. And you can tell by her smile that she doesn't mind it too much either.

{TWO}
I have waited all summer for this moment. Although it only lasts about 3 minutes, it's still nice to be able to sit by the pool with my feet up.

{THREE}
This girl. All in one week she's finally started rolling over routinely (yes, in the crib and when I'm trying to change her diaper) and scooting everywhere. I took this picture after about the third time of me turning her around. She's a monster.

{FOUR}
Every week should include a donut breakfast. Am I right?? This boy can put away some donuts. I don't know where he gets that. #GiveMeAllTheDonuts

{FIVE}
My three favorite people. Cuddle time on daddy before bed is always the best. And I won't mention that this is the first picture I have of Sean with both of his babies. And I also won't mention how this moment made both of us want about 10 more babies.

That pretty much sums up our awesome week spent at home. Hoping this weekend we'll finally put the finishing touches on Stella's room! I'm super excited about that. Do you think that will make her sleep through the night?? Yea, I didn't think so. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Finally...A Weekend Re-Cap

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Well we are home and have been for 3 nights now, but we're already look forward to our next summer adventure. Which starts in less than a week. This summer has been super busy but I'm loving every second of it!

We spent a majority of the day on Friday swimming. Then we attended my step-sister's wedding rehearsal and dinner that evening. Wyatt did a great job walking down the aisle as the ring bearer...during the rehearsal. More on that in a minute.

Saturday morning Wyatt went with daddy and Pop for a ride in the "beep" to a car show and then we did some swimming. Saturday evening was spent at the Sarah and Travis' wedding.
Wyatt was supposed to be the ring bearer but he didn't quite make it down the aisle. He ran about half way down and then turned around when he realized I wasn't with him. It was pretty cute though, he stopped and picked up some petals that the flower girls had dropped. He was still super cute though.

After spending almost 2 weeks in Fayetteville we packed up and headed for home on Sunday. We were happy to be home and excited to see our new living room furniture that we bought back in May! I'm so excited to finally have a fully furnished home, and Stella's room is almost complete as well!

9 Months!!

Saturday, July 11, 2015

Our Dearest Stella,

Sweet baby girl, this has most definitely been the hardest month for me! I feel like 9 months sounds so old. I mean, gah, when Wyatt was this old I was already pregnant with you. I just want to keep you little forever. You are getting so big and growing too fast! You're working on becoming mobile and I am not ready for that, at all.
What you did this month:
  • You are weighing about 15 pounds and roughly 24 inches long.
  • You are wearing 9M and 6-12M clothes. You wear size 6/9 M and 9M in pajamas.
  • You are wearing size 3 diapers.
  • You nurse about every 3-4 hours now. And eat solids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • You love eating food and really prefer to feed yourself. You're still eating some purees, yogurt, and pieces of food that we're eating. Your favorites are any (and all) carbs, yogurt, cracker, and chicken nuggets.
  • You take a morning nap around 10 for an hour to hour and a half. Then you take an afternoon nap around 1:30 for about 2 hours.
  • You go to bed around 7:30 at night and you've been waking up around 11:30, 3:30, and then you're up for the day around 8.
  • You started sleeping in your "big girl" room this month!! You're doing ok and thankfully have not woken your brother up.
  • You're rolling over now and can even go from lying to sitting, sometimes.
  • You move yourself around on your booty, using your feet to scoot.
  • You love when mommy sings and rocks you to sleep. And I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
  • You and Wyatt are starting to interact more and he's taken more of an interest in you. It's really sweet how he likes to play with you and even holds you some. Although most of the time he's trying to push your head down so you'll lie down.
  • You love animals! Your face lights up and you're so happy when they come around.
  • You've also become quite a jabber box. We're pretty sure you're saying kitty, which comes out "ki" when you see the cats.
  • You're quite the little swimmer. You really enjoy the water and actually like being in the floatie; Wyatt always hated it.
  • You visited the beach for the first time this month and celebrated your first 4th of July.
