It's The Little Things | The Bath Time Timeline

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Bath time is something that has become part of our nightly routine. Wyatt and Stella love their baths, although it usually ends in tears from one or both of them.

They always start with smiling face and giggling.

They play peek-a-boo and share their toys.

They splash in the water.

Then somewhere along the way the smiling faces and giggles turn to frowns and screaming.

And then bath time is over.

Linking up with JESS!

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, September 18, 2015

I'm going to just get to the point with my {FIVE} favorite moments of the week. I kind of shared a little of what's been going on with us in yesterday's post, plus it's 8:50 on Friday night and I'm exhausted--ha.

{ONE}
Seriously. It doesn't get any more precious than this. I always find all types of pictures on my phone that Wyatt takes. This has to be the best yet. His hand, his lion, and his little foot, perfection.

{TWO}
I shared this on INSTAGRAM yesterday but it was too sweet not to share here too. Wyatt's pretty crazy about his little sister, and vice versa.

{THREE}
We've been having quite a bit of outside time this week, despite the hot and humid weather. And I love even more that Wyatt has started cooperating for our selfies.

{FOUR}
I was super excited to receive these in the mail today from SADIE SKY BOUTIQUE! I've already been snapping pictures of her in them and they're perfection!

{FIVE}
And for your viewing pleasure...our tiny dancer!

Thoughts for Thursday | My P/T SAHM Status

Thursday, September 17, 2015

 Since September 1st our lives have been so crazy and in a big adjustment period. The 6 months prior I had been throwing the idea around about trying to find some p/t work that would get me out of the house and exercise my mind a little. Of course, I wasn't actually searching, just praying that the right thing would come along and fall into my lap. And it did. I literally accepted a teaching position at SAU on August 10, found a sitter within 24 hours, and immediately started prepping for my first semester of teaching college. Mind you, before September 1st I hadn't taught since April of 2013, and those were 1st graders.
Since starting my job, I've been teaching once a week and grading assignments during naptime and in the evenings, plus creating lesson plans. I literally feel like I don't stop. The kids and I leave the house almost every morning just so we can go somewhere and play without any distractions. I feel like when I'm home I can get bogged down at the computer working or doing too many chores, when I should be playing with my babies. The chores have taken a bit of a back seat but I'm learning to adjust my routine, and set an alarm again.
Our sitter was working out wonderfully but, unfortunately, she had to have an emergency surgery this week and I'm now scrambling to find a replacement before Tuesday. And so far I'm not getting anywhere with that. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated. I'm so thankful that the kids have adjusted so well to me working, it's almost like they haven't even noticed. Even when they had a new, temporary, sitter this week. I get kisses and no tears when I leave and hugs when I return. Honestly, that's been the best part! I'm hardly away from them and they're always so happy to see me when I return.
So far the transition has been really great! I love teaching and this has definitely been a new learning experience for me. I also enjoy the feeling of having an income again. Not that anyone has ever made me feel inferior for not having an income, or using my Master's degree, but I have made my own money since I was 15 years old so it's a nice feeling again.
Thank you all for sticking with me through this as well. I know I've been a bit absent lately, but I still enjoy writing on my blog and connecting with all of you through our shared interest!

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, September 11, 2015

I don't know about y'all, but I love a short week! Even if it means our week was more chaotic than most. Wyatt definitely kept me on my toes every day this week, and made sure I remembered he was two. Between him, school work, and working on fundraising events for a friend, I'm officially pooped. Thank goodness for the weekend and Arkansas football tomorrow! WOOOOO PIG!

{ONE}
Oh, and did I mention that I'm also planning someone's first birthday? Yes, it's on the list somewhere. I finally got her invitations printed and they're going in the mail first thing tomorrow morning. Where has the time gone?? One month from today she'll officially be a one year old. Tear.

{TWO}
Halloween is right around the corner! Can you believe it?? While we were doing our grocery shopping today, we picked up some Halloween books and festive shirts. I don't think Wyatt has let these book out of his sight. As a matter of fact, he's currently in bed with them. "Mick-me!"

{THREE}
Did you catch my post from yesterday? I shared all about our love for ONE LOOM! And here Stella and I are in our matching headbands! #twinning

{FOUR}
Not only did Wyatt have his first day of school on Tuesday, but he also had his first field trip on Thursday. The 2-4 year old all went to the fair to see the animals.  If you read my post on Tuesday, then you know he wasn't really a fan of the fair over the weekend. The same could pretty much be said for the field trip. Except they got popsicles and Capri-Suns at the end. That totally made it all worth it in his eyes!

{FIVE}
I mentioned above that I've been working on some fundraising events. A couple of us are putting together a yard sale/bake sale for our friend who is currently battling cancer. I also designed these shirts that we started selling yesterday. I was so excited when I saw the preview! I love them! It makes my heart happy to be doing good for others. Get out there and do something for someone today!

11 Months!!

Our Dearest Stella,

I still can't believe that in just under a month you will be a year old. I still feel like you should only be one month old. You bring so much joy and happiness into our home everyday. You are definitely a daddy's girl, unless your sleepy, then you want mama. You're already our little dancing queen. You seriously stop mid-crawl and dance as soon as you hear music. It's so precious! We love you so much, monster!

What you did this month:
  • You are weighing about 17.5 pounds and roughly 29 inches tall.
  • You are wearing 9M and 6-12M clothes. You wear 12M in pajamas.
  • You are wearing size 3 diapers.
  • You nurse about 3 times a day-- noon, night, and once during the night. And eat solids at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
  • Your favorite foods are White Cheddar Cheeto Puffs (you get giddy when you see the bag), Nature Valley PB bars, waffles with syrup, yogurt, smoothies, chicken, and fruit/veggie pouches.
  • You take a morning nap around 9 for about an hour. Then you take an afternoon nap around 1:30 for about 2 hours.
  • You go to bed around 7:30 at night and you've been waking up around midnight and 3/4. When you wake up at 3/4 we make you fuss yourself back to sleep. You wake in the mornings around 7/7:30.
  • We finally lowered your crib this month. You love to hold onto the side and jump when we come in to get you.
  • You have 4 teeth, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom.
  • You're crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything. You can free-stand as well but then sit back down.
  • You still prefer to be rocked to sleep. Although, I try to put you down while you're still slightly awake.
  • You have also started sleeping with a Glowworm and a silky blanket.
  • You and Wyatt are always together, especially since you can follow him around everywhere. When you wake up from nap and he's still asleep you are usually fussy until he gets up.
  • You love to be outside and fuss to get out there. Unfortunately the mosquitoes are still bad and they have been eating you alive. You also love bath time!
  • You've also become quite a jabber box. We're pretty sure you're saying kitty, which comes out "ki-ca" when you see the cats and you're also saying "mamama" and "dada".
  • When we tell you 'no' you start "crying" and fussing, it usually involves throwing your head back.

Thoughts for Thursday | One Loom

Thursday, September 10, 2015

Today I'm talking about an amazing shop, ONE LOOM DESIGNS. One Loom is run by some amazing women who I am fortunate enough to know, and who have a passion for helping others. This company provides jobs for single Guatemalan mothers and a marketplace for their beautiful creations.
Like I mentioned above, I am fortunate enough to know Angela, the founder and designer of One Loom. We went to school together for many years and she married one of my classmates. Over the weekend One Loom had a booth set up at the Clothesline Fair, the craft fair I mentioned in Tuesday's post.
I was so excited, and overwhelmed, to finally see these amazing products in person. There are so many amazing styles and they have recently started creating bows and headbands for little girls. They will be branching into One Loom Littles in the coming months!
I just wanted to share such an amazing shop with you all and I hope you will check it out! You can also find them on INSTAGRAM.

*I was not compensated for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I just really LOVE this shop!*

It's the Little Things | Donuts and Mama Time

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

Yesterday Wyatt started back to his two-day-a-week pre-school. This year he is in the 2-year old classroom with Mrs. Brittany.

 We don't usually get a lot of one-on-one time, so I jumped at the opportunity! I knew we'd have plenty of time to grab some donuts and hang out before his big day started, so that's just what we did!

He did so well when it was time to go to school. He walked in all on his own and immediately started to play. He kept saying "no" when I'd try to leave, until Mrs. Brittany helped him wash his hands. She already knows the way into his little heart. I gave him a kiss and said goodbye.

After a day like today I'm glad we were able to enjoy some fun together!

Our Weekend | Labor Day

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

Our last weekend of summer was spent in Fayetteville, and we made the most of it! There was a county fair, a parade, a craft fair, football, and swimming!!

We got in town on Friday just in time for naps! Thank goodness. Once the kiddos were up and around we headed out for some delicious dinner at FREDDY'S, and it did not disappoint. Although, Wyatt could have cared less, and I'm always thankful for extra hands when out in public. And Wyatt's thankful for Pop's "beep".

After dinner we headed to the county fair where we met cousin's Jax and Aria, and Aunt Tiff. Again, being the two year old that he his, Wyatt could really have cared less for the fair. He was way more concerned that there was an armband on his wrist, and he wanted it off. We were able to get him on one ride, which he enjoyed...for the most part.

Saturday morning we got up and around and headed to our hometown's parade. Every Labor Day weekend they host the CLOTHESLINE FAIR, which brings with it a parade and square dancing. It's a tradition that's been going strong for 64 years. We were actually joking on Sunday about how I managed to graduate in Prairie Grove and never square dance, it's almost an impossible feat. Ha.
Anyways, this year was Jax's first year to square dance so we made sure we were there to support him in the parade. And get candy and fruit snacks.

After the parade Wyatt went to help Pop with some chores while Mimi, Stella, and I hit up the craft fair for a little shopping. (I'll talk more about my goodies later this week!) We then headed for home for naps and some RAZORBACK FOOTBALL, finally it's that time of year!!

Sunday was a great day full of church, family time, swimming, and great food! I somehow managed to not get one picture of the event; too many memories were being created!

Monday we headed home and got ready for Wyatt's first week back to school!! Hope you all had a great holiday weekend, and maybe got some rest!

{FIVE} Favorite Moments of the Week

Friday, September 4, 2015

Oh!! What. A. Week. Sean has been traveling, for the third week in a row. He was supposed to be home late last night but "stuff" happened and now he won't be back until late tonight. So ready for some normalcy. Since he was gone we tried to keep super busy this week to keep from going crazy!

{ONE}
I taught my first college class this week! WOW! I was so nervous. Thankfully they were so sweet and went along with my corny first grade lessons. I figure they better get used to it since they'll be teaching elementary school.

{TWO}
We had plenty of park time this week. And we actually made some new friends while we were there one morning! Yay! It's amazing how, even when living in a small town, there are SAHM who I've never met!

{THREE}
I rented HOME for the kids this week, mainly to give me a break in the evening. Movies can be really hit or miss when Wyatt watches them for the first time, but thankfully he loved it! He actually was pretty upset when it had to go back home to the Redbox. And even better?? The soundtrack is actually really good AND the kids enjoy it! Finally a little break from the Frozen soundtrack.

{FOUR}
I woke up Tuesday morning and found out that I'd won a store credit from SADIE SKY BOUTIQUE on INSTAGRAM!! I was so excited and got my order in as soon as possible!

{FIVE}
I know I already mentioned parks, but we found this awesome new park! We had to go to El Dorado (a town about 30 minutes from us) to run some errands and since it was dinner time we went ahead and grabbed some fast food. I didn't really feel like eating in the car (or driving 30 minutes home before eating) so I found this great little park. Everything was Wyatt's size and he was in heaven! At the park we normally go to the slide is a tunnel slide and he is not a fan, so he was loving THIS!

Hope you all have an awesome holiday weekend! We're going to enjoy this last weekend before Wyatt heads back to school!!
