Yesterday I shared some of my
MUST-HAVES for making baby food, and today I'm sharing some recipes that I use. Well, they're not recipes so much as they are food combinations. A recipe would require me to actually have exact measurements of the ingredients.
Mixed Berries, Apple Sauce, and Spinach
Squash and Apple Sauce
Zucchini and Mixed Berries
Blueberries, Strawberries, and Spinach
Pumpkin, Squash, and Apple Sauce
Spinach and Pears
--I don't have exact measurements for any of these combinations. I shoot for equal divisions of the ingredients but it really comes down to taste. I tend to make the purees a little sweet.
--Most of the time I use frozen fruit, it's just easier to me, and keeps longer. I also use pre-made unsweetened apple sauce; I don't make my own.
--When preparing the squash and zucchini, I peel them and cut them in to thin slices. Then I put them in a microwave safe cup/dish and microwave for about 2 minutes, until they're soft.
