Spring {Weather} Has Sprung

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Most of you probably are not aware (unless you live in Arkansas and watch the news or perhaps we're friends on Facebook) but our little town was hit pretty hard last Thursday night with a storm. Most of the reports were about the high school, and yes, unfortunately, it took quite a beating.  But there was also a lot of damage done to homes.  It's such a miracle that no one was hurt or even killed.  I was actually driving around today, my first time doing so, and was amazed at all of the damage to homes.

The worst part is that we had no warning.  Since it wasn't technically a tornado, just straight-line winds,  the sirens didn't sound.  For those of us not affected we woke up Friday morning wondering what was going on, since we had no electricity.  So naturally, I took to Facebook to learn about the devastation in our town.  Clean up is still underway and the electricity is still hit or miss for most areas.  Fortunately, ours has been on since Saturday and was only turned off for a brief time yesterday afternoon.

Hopefully this is not a glimpse of what this Spring has in store for us.
