our 630th weekend

Monday, September 30, 2013

Sean and I spent our approximately 630th weekend together.  Our first weekend together, ever, was spent celebrating his 18th birthday, and this weekend we celebrated his 30th birthday.  It's so crazy to me how fast time flies.  We've been together 12 years, I mean come on, that's almost half of my entire life.
It was a low-key weekend, just how he likes it.  My 30th birthday, I hope we at least go out to dinner.  Of course I gave him to option of getting a sitter, going out, and having a quiet meal together.  But no, he just wanted to order a pizza and watch the game.  He's so funny. I, also, would not spend my birthday weekend outside doing, what I call, work. But, Sean spent a majority of his day working in the yard and taking dirt to our neighbors.  I love him.
This was probably the first occasion, in I don't know how long, where I was actually able to surprise him a little.  He had no idea, I don't think, what he was getting.  He's the kind of person who will spend $100's of dollars on me for all occasions, but when I try to spend money on him he tells me not to.  Plus, he also is the type to where if he wants something...he buys it.  Leaves a bit of a small wish list for me to choose from.  But, I did order him some new canvas prints of his favorite little person for his new office and surprised him with an Amazon gift card.  Amazon Prime will be the death of him. There's no telling what will show up at our house on any given day.
Every year, it's definitely not a surprise anymore, I drive to Magnolia (a town about 30 minutes away) and get him a Dairy Queen ice cream cake.  Now, if you've never had one...get one! THEY.ARE.HEAVENLY.
If you couldn't tell by the name, they have ice cream and cookie in the middle.  You can choose any kind of ice cream that Dairy Queen offers, I chose Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough this year and it did not disappoint!
We rounded the weekend out with dinner from....Sonic.  I told you, I married the most simple man on the planet! But, in case you were wondering, their chicken strip dinner are back and delicious as ever!

Oh, and if you were wondering about Wyatt's craft time, here it is!! Better than I could have imagined!
