Wyatt wasn't a very big fan of being wet. With his clothes on. So he only lasted a few minutes before taking cover...and stripping down. Stella, on the other hand. loved it.
This was really out of the norm for me. Playing in the rain is not something I would choose to do myself and so I wouldn't normally be like, Oh, yea! Y'all go play in the rain. and get all messy and stuff. That's really just not me.
I'm really trying to embrace the small things and their little-ness. I want them to try new things and see that it's OK to play in the rain. It's OK to get messy, and dirty, and sticky. Even if those aren't things that I am naturally comfortable with.
I really think they enjoyed it and I'm happy they experienced it. Who know, maybe I'll let them play in the rain again today. Maybe they'll ask if they can go play in the rain, and I'd most definitely say yes.
