A Weekend {Re-Cap}

Monday, March 14, 2016

Wow, what a great & busy weekend! One of those weekends where you feel like Friday was a week ago.

{FRIDAY}
My weekend started on Friday at about 3:30. Me and two of my girlfriends hit the road for Little Rock to see Luke Bryan in concert. Thankfully the rain held off for a bit so we weren't completely soaked. We ate at a little homemade pizza place and it was so good, especially the cheese bread.

We made it to the concert just as Dustin Lynch was in the middle of his opening act. He was actually really good. I recognized the songs but had to ask someone who it was. Ha!

We had such a great time! And Luke did not disappoint.

{SATURDAY}
Saturday morning came quick. I didn't get home until about 1 and the kids were up and ready to go by about 6. Sean headed off to the steak cook-off  pretty early so I was left to my defenses. Thankfully it wasn't raining so we got out and enjoyed so good muddy play.

I had a sitter come to the house at 11:30 so I could go help Sean with appetizers at the cook-off.
Team Espeedie (his initials are SPD).
We served little salmon balls to the public and turned in salmon cake sliders to the judges.

We turned our appetizers in at about 1:30 so we had some time before steaks were due (3:15). We hung out, ate too much food, and visited with friends.

After we turned the steak in I headed back to the house. They don't announce any winners until 6 so I had some time to kill. Plus, I was fortunate enough to miss out on the torrential downpour. At about 5:30 the kids and I headed back up to cook-off to hear them announce the winners. I would have been devastated if he'd won and I missed it. He placed 30/55 in appetizers and 16/55 for steaks!! We were really pleased with the results, especially for this being his first year on his own team. I couldn't have been more proud!

{SUNDAY}
Sunday came way too early. Even though we "sprung forward" the kids apparently felt like falling back. Wyatt was up no later than 6, which is 5 normal time. We were exhausted. But, we rallied the troops and made it to church on time.

It's kind of become a tradition to go to Wal-Mart after church. We always need like one or two things so the boys always run in. Yesterday we had to have the new Snoopy movie.

And then we, of course, had to watch it as soon as we got home! It's seriously so cute! I may have cried at the end, so sweet.

Sunday afternoon called for naps and some playtime outside in-between rain showers. And, of course, Sean and I ended our Sunday night with TWD.
Hope you all had a great weekend! And here's to a week with no rain in the forecast!!!
